Topic B Updates

Hey Delegates! I wanted to check in on topic B which is Open Agenda. Considering we have three proposed topics, I am going to go over a recent development for each issue and how it will affect the way you guys can form solutions and responses. 

Regarding Sudan power struggle, this article delves into the current updates in the region with a specific focus on healthcare, economic stability, food insecurity, and displacement. 

Regarding the invasion of Ukraine. this article delves into the international response to the conflict at hand. The ICC is currently seeking arrest of certain Russian officers which is worthwhile in both understanding what international response has been as well as understanding what power international bodies even have. 

Regarding the Taliban rule of Afghanistan, this article delves into the human rights violations that women and girls are facing and the responsibility of the international community to hold governments accountable. 

Remember, these topics are just propositions for debate and we encourage all of you to remain updated on any other pressing global conflicts that could lend themselves to be debated next weekend.   Hi delegates!  As we continue counting down the days to BMUN 72, I wanted to provide some advice on speeches and speaking in general.  First, and most importantly, breathe and have fun with it! I understand how scary it can be to speak in front of others, but we're all here to learn together. Your speech doesn't have to be the most perfectly polished to be good---we're looking for meaningful research that relates to and aligns with your countries' stances on the topics at hand. Use that knowledge and apply it to new solutions. Hey delegates!  Considering the current situation in Gaza, we wanted to help provide some information as to how that is affecting the Water Crisis in the region. Position Paper Tips

  Hi delegates! Just wanted to check in and offer a bit more guidance on your position papers. As a reminder, UN Security will be using a different Position Paper format detailed in the UNSC page on the BMUN website ( https://www.bmun.org/committees/unsc ) . This is because the second topic is Open Agenda, and rather than having you write position papers on each of the potential topics, we would like to see you all start working towards creating arguments on which ones are most pressing at this time!
